Furniture, Appliance, Mattress & Hot Tub Removal and Cleanouts in Somers
Junk removal in Somers, WI, for homes, apartments and rural properties. Furniture and mattresses out of apartments, old sheds off back lots, brush piles and full garages - you point at what goes, we carry it, and the truck leaves full.
Somers is just north of Kenosha along Hwy 31 and I-94, an easy run up from our base in Waukegan. The price works the same here as everywhere we haul: by the space your load fills in the truck, with labor, loading, sweep-up and disposal fees inside one number you approve before we start.

From campus apartments to rural lots in Somers
Somers is two places at once. Around UW-Parkside and the roads near Petrifying Springs Park it is student apartments, rentals and village neighborhoods; out toward the Racine County line it opens up into acreage, farmhouses and outbuildings. The junk is different in each.
Near campus, the busy time is the end of the spring semester, when leases end and furniture that is not making the trip home gets left in the unit or at the curb. A move-out cleanout takes the couch, the mattress, the desk and the rest in one visit, so the deposit inspection goes clean.
On the rural side it is sheds that have given up, brush and storm limbs, and leftover building material from projects that finished years ago. Wisconsin does not allow yard waste in its landfills, so brush goes to a yard waste site rather than a transfer station. Kenosha is just to the south and Mount Pleasant just to the north, and both are covered the same way.

Wisconsin disposal rules
Where a Somers load actually goes
Hauling on the Wisconsin side is not quite the same job as in Lake County, because Wisconsin's recycling law keeps more out of the landfill. Yard waste, major appliances, tires, cardboard and most household electronics - TVs, computers, monitors, printers and phones - are all banned from Wisconsin landfills, so a load has to be separated before anything is dumped.
That sorting is part of the price, not an add-on. Fridges and freezers go to a recycler that handles the refrigerant, electronics go to an e-waste recycler, brush and yard debris go to a yard waste site, metal goes to scrap, and furniture in decent shape goes to donation where it meets the intake standards.
What we cannot take is the same on both sides of the line: paint, solvents, pesticides, fuel, propane tanks and anything else that counts as household hazardous waste. If there is a shelf of it in the garage, we leave it where it is and tell you.
How it works
Four steps, no surprises at the end
- 01Send a photo
Text a picture of the pile, the room or the item. Most jobs can be priced from that without anybody coming out.
- 02Get a number
You get a flat, all-in price covering labor, loading, sweep-up and disposal fees. Not an hourly rate that moves.
- 03Pick a slot
Same-day and next-day are often open. If you are working to a closing or a delivery window, we schedule around it.
- 04We load and go
We carry it out - stairs and basements included - sweep the space and haul it off. You approve the price before anything moves.
Questions
Common questions in Somers
Do you really come up to Somers from Illinois?
Yes. We are based in Waukegan, a short run up I-94 or Sheridan Road from the state line, and Somers is part of our service area. You call or text the same number, and the job is priced the same way as anywhere we work.
How is the price worked out?
By volume - how much space your items take up in the truck, measured in fractions of a load. Labor, loading, sweeping up and the disposal or recycling fees are all included in that number, so the figure you are quoted is the figure you pay.
Can you give me a price from a photo?
Usually yes. Text a picture of the pile, the room or the item and we can give you a number back the same day for most jobs. Larger jobs - a whole house, a barn, a hot tub with no path out - are worth a quick on-site look first.
How soon can you get here?
Same-day and next-day slots are often available, and we schedule Monday through Saturday with Sunday by arrangement. If you are working to a closing date, a lease end or a delivery window, tell us the deadline when you call.
What happens to everything after you take it in Wisconsin?
It gets sorted. Wisconsin bans yard waste, major appliances, cardboard and most electronics from its landfills, so those go to recyclers and yard waste sites. Usable furniture goes to donation where it meets intake standards, metal goes to scrap, and only what is left goes to a licensed transfer station.
Do you take furniture from UW-Parkside apartments at move-out?
Yes. Couches, mattresses, desks and anything else that is not making the trip home. If several roommates are clearing out, one visit covers the whole apartment.
Can you remove an old shed or outbuilding on a rural lot?
Yes. Sheds and small wooden outbuildings are taken down and hauled in the same visit. Mention a concrete slab, electrical, or a building bigger than a typical shed when you send the photo so we can confirm it is a job for us.
Do you haul brush and storm limbs?
Yes. Brush piles, branches and storm limbs go to a yard waste site, since Wisconsin does not allow yard waste in its landfills.
